Sarah Walther

Sarah Walther is a Narrative Family Therapist with the East Lancashire Hopsitals NHS Trust. In addition, Sarah is invited to share her theoretical and practice developments throughout the world and her publications have been translated into many languages. One of Sarah’s papers, co-written with Maggie Carey, was named by Family Process as one of the fifty most influential papers in family therapy.

Sarah draws on ideas from different disciplines to inform her work, but her reading, writing and development projects always emerge from and return to the very real practice dilemmas she experiences every day. Her recent interests include responses to social inequity; addressing the effects of trauma; and making visible the ‘shoulds’ of life. Sarah is currently working on her first book.
