Goran Boll

Goran Boll is the founder of The MediYoga Institute (IMY) in Stockholm, Sweden, an organization that trains professionals and participates in research on yoga within the Medical System of Sweden.

Besides open classes for the general public and one-on-one therapeutic sessions IMY offers a 120 hour instructor course over one semester and a 750 hour yoga therapy training program over three semesters, in Sweden and Norway. Today 1200 health professionals in Sweden and 300 in Norway have taken these trainings. Some 80 hospitals and primary health care clinics in Sweden today use Görans MediYoga programs on patients with heart problems, spine problems, eating disorders, anxiety, insomnia, stress, cancer, and in palliative care.

Goran who for eight years was a certified lead trainer for the Kundalini Yoga Teacher Trainings in Stockholm is a yoga therapist and trainer of yoga therapists since 2006. For five years he lectured on yoga at the Medical College of the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm, he has introduced yoga at some 300 major workplaces all over Sweden and participated in most of the research done on yoga in Sweden since 1998. Göran lectures at universities, in hospitals and workplaces both in Sweden and internationally. In January 2014 Göran was one of the organizers behind “Breathing Day” in Sweden, with breathing conferences in six cities around Sweden, where he also lectured at the Stockholm conference. He was a key note speaker at SYTAR in Boston 2013 and his articles on yoga therapy has been published in YTT, Yoga Magazine, Yoga Aktuell and several Swedish newspapers and magazines. Göran is a member of the IAYT Advisory Council.
