Dr Kim Brown
Dr Kim Brown is the founder of Nature Therapy CIC which was set up to ensure the benefits of nature are open to all. Kim started work in a psychiatric hospital over forty years ago where she first noticed improvements in the quality of life for patients who were able to spend time outside. Her subsequent career has been spent as a nurse, midwife and teacher who specialised in working with vulnerable children and adults. Kim has always been interested in mental health and researching the impact of nature - this led her to undertaking a MPhil in Research Methodology and a MSc in Health Education.
Kim has been a Senior Advisor for the Home Office, CEO of a charity, and over the years has developed numerous projects for vulnerable children and adults for which she has won national awards. This includes a national Nurse of the Year award and more recently a national Venus award for Inspirational Professional of the Year. She spent five years traveling the world for her Doctorate in Health Science and researching the many different ways nature impacts on human wellbeing through the senses. She also holds an Expedition Leader qualification which has helped build the solid foundation of many of our programmes. |
